Adam sat at a table in the study section of UIC's library. He was meeting his first tutoring client ever and he was a tad nervous, mostly because he'd be tutoring a female. Adam was no stranger to helping people out in his classes, but when it came to women, well, that was unfamiliar territory. He had his Chemistry textbook beside him, along with a red spiral notebook and a mechanical pencil that he was currently tapping against the wooden tabletop much to the dismay of others around him.
He wished she was here already. She wasn't late, he was just early. He was always early no matter where he went. It was an anxiety thing. He ran a hand through his hair. He hated his hair. It always stuck up and was so difficult to tame. His ex girlfriend told him that's what she loved about it. For a long time he seriously thought about shaving his head. Adam shook his head. He hated when Clara popped into his head. He had just ended their relationship three months ago and he'd be lying if he said he still wasn't completely over her. They had dated for four years and when she cheated on him, he had never been more hurt or more shocked in his life. He had tried to give her a second chance, but realized he could never trust her again and figured it best to end things for good. Adam had yet to take another stab at dating. Clara was the only woman he'd ever been with, so he was pretty much clueless.
Adam checked his watch. Still fifteen more minutes to go and he was becoming incredibly antsy. There was also a kid in the corner giving him a dirty look. He glared at Adam and then at his tapping pencil. Adam was sure he wanted to put that pencil through his eye, which made him nervous, so he stopped making noise. His hands were still itching to do something though. Being the nerd he was, he carried his Game Boy with him. It was the second model and it was teal and he was currently playing the yellow Pokemon version. Since there was still time left, he figured it would be okay for him to take it out of his backpack and play a little until she game. He'd make sure to keep an eye on the time too, that way he could put it away before she came and judged him.

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are There was something she was supposed to be doing at that moment but she couldn’t remember… it was important she did remember that fact. Morgan looked out over at her clock on the night stand, 2:30.“Shit!” she yelled jumping off her bed; she had promised that tutor guy that she would meet him at the library, and that she would be there by 3:00. She was half way to the door before realizing he couldn’t leave his room looking as he was in her underwear and tank top. She contemplated texting him and changing the date, but she was barely passing Chemistry with a D and could use all the help she could get. She knew he would be pissed that she was late and she couldn’t blame him, she had said she would be there at 3. She didn’t understand how time could’ve gotten away from her so fast. She sighed, before heading to her closet to pick out something to wear. It took her fifteen minutes to choose what to wear, and another five to put it on. She had decided on an old white tank, with a black vest, and a pair of black skinny jeans.
She was running a comb through her hair when her roommate and her roommates boyfriend of the moment came walking into the room, “Hey Morgan,” she said, “Don’t you have some place to be… like now?” “Yea… I’ll be out in a second,” she called from the bathroom, “I just gotta find my boots.” she remembered she had kicked them off when she walked in from her shopping trip yesterday, but she didn’t know where they went. She checked under her bed but didn’t see them there. She checked the closet, but didn’t see them there either. She stood up and let out a sigh of frustration, “Where did you go?” she muttered, before noticing them by the door. Putting them on she grabbed her keys and cell phone, and walked out the door, calling out bye over her shoulder. Wait… she was forgetting something. Purse, “I’m out of here, I swear,” she said grabbing her purse and high tailing it out of there.
She was sort of rusty on how to get to the library, having not been there in well… ever, but she figured she would find it eventually. She felt that was kind of slack on her part, she had lived her for a good couple years now, and yet she still didn’t know where a good portion of the places on campus were, but in her defense she was directionally challenged. Morgan arrived at her destination a little before she was due, sure she was out of breath from running, but at least she had made there on time. “Yes!” she said out loud, and did a little dance to celebrate her victory, earning a few weird looks from the people passing on the street.
Morgan wandered around the place looking for him, finding him not long after at a table playing with some type of game thingy. “I’m not late I swear,” she said with a smile on her face, and plopped down in the seat beside him.

Adam was pretty efficient when it came to time. Mostly because he had a set schedule down to the very last second. Therefore, he was never late, but if an unexpected incident were to ever occur, enough time was allotted for the appropriate measures to take place. Most people would say Adam had a problem and he well, does. He has borderline OCD and anxiety, which can be rough, but he handles it as best as he can. Sometimes being a perfectionist gets in the way of taking a break, or having fun, sometimes he gets anxiety attacks so bad that he holes himself up in his room and cries, but he doesn't let this rule his life. No one knows these things about him except his family and his best friend Isa. He was too afraid that people would make fun of him.
Video games were a hobby of his. They were since he was little. A lot of boys were into them growing up, most boys become men who still play video games, but they tend to play the "cool" video games. Adam preferred to play the different Pokemon versions on a Game Boy he bought off Ebay or play Mario Kart on Nintendo. Yeah, he had the modern game systems as well, but they weren't as fun. However, he did now play WoW or Magic the Gathering. He wasn't THAT nerdy.
He had been pretty consumed in his game, so when she sat down, she really gave him a surprise and he jumped a bit, which caused his cheeks to flush red from embarrassment. When she said she wasn't late, he bit his lip and said, "Um, okay". Not like he was doubting her, more like, he was so nervous that this beautiful girl was sitting across from him that he was practically speechless! Adam released his tense position and managed to save his game and shut it off, then he slowly tucked the Game Boy into his backpack beneath the table. He scooted his chair in and coughed.
"Um, hi. I'm Adam." He said a bit shyly with a small smile. She probably knew who he was, since the partners usually got each other's information, but still, he was sure and formal introduction would be nice. "Do you know what you're having the most trouble with?" He asked lamely, avoiding her eyes but glancing back every now and then. She was pretty and he was so nervous. God, how he hoped he wouldn't have an attack and have to leave running for the bathroom. She'd probably think he had explosive diarrhea or something. No, he had to remain calm. Adam let out a slow, jagged breath and finally looked at her face. He tried to smile, but it looked a bit strained.
